BUSINESS PRACTICES AND ETHICS
WHO IS ON OUR SIDE - GOVERNMENT OR BIG BUSINESS?
As I see discrepancies between the way people are treated by Government and Business, I want to share them with you. Normally I will just list the discrepancy and let you make the decision as to which is morally and ethically correct. If you feel that the difference is something to be concerned about, I would encourage you to write to the appropriate people.
SUBJECT - Due date on bills.
Government - Payment is considered late if the envelope containing the remittance is postmarked after the due date. If the due date falls on a Sunday or Holiday, the due date moves to the next day.
Big Business - Payment is considered to be late if it arrives at the office after a specified hour on the due date. It does not make any difference if it is a Sunday or Holiday and there is not mail delivery on that day, nor does it specify the time of day that the mail is delivered or picked up at the Post Office.

SALARIES FOR ATHLETIC SUPER STARS -- IS IT A SIN?
I want to begin by saying this
subject is not limited to those in the world of sports. The same question
can be asked of people in the business, educational, professional and
political arenas. I also want to make it clear that this THOUGHT does not
apply to the average Mr. or Ms. who work very hard just to provide the
necessities of life.
Throughout the year the media tells us of the contract that a sought after coach or athlete has signed. I cringe when I read how many millions of dollars are involved. It is my opinion that no person, no matter what they do, is worthy of that kind of a salary. You may or may not agree with me. I respect your opinion.
For your consideration, I submit these questions:
IS IT A SIN for a person to be paid a yearly multimillion dollar salary?
IS IT A SIN for colleges and Universities to pay coaches according to the terms of a multimillion dollar contract?
IS IT A SIN for Professional Athletic Teams to offer multimillion dollar contracts?
IS IT A SIN for advertisers to support these contracts through the high fees they pay for advertising?
IS IT A SIN for any of us to pay the high prices for tickets, refreshments, and the many products that are made available for sale, all under Trademark, of course?
IS IT A SIN that many people cannot afford the joy of attending sporting events, especially when in the past it was such an important family outing?
IS IT A SIN when Professional Sports takes the higher bids from cable or satellite and deprives those who either cannot afford or choose not to have those services?
I have opinions and reasons for answers to these questions. I will share them with you if anyone asks. Yes I enjoy and follow Professional Teams. My favorite teams are Football - Denver Broncos, Baseball - Detroit Tigers, Hockey - Detroit Red Wings, Basketball - Detroit Pistons, Golf - Phil Mickelson and Indy Racing -Sam Hornish, Jr. I do not follow NASCAR and Tennis enough to have a favorite.
GOD’S PEACE. SEE YOU A THE HOUSE.
A COMMENT RECEIVED:
If I made money like the CEO's make and some athletes I couldn't live with
myself. J.K.
